OCAC7: Oh, so that's where you've been

updating. I was beginning to worry when I noticed that you hadn't updated since the 2nd of July. By some random stroke of pure guess, I rechecked an old place. Lo and behold. Updates. Many updates at that. I'll have to spend some free time reading because you write a lot. Hmm, actually, I might write about the same amount, except your stuff seems sort of ... important compared to my ramblings. Lol.


Sunday. 26.

Meeting up with Sandy to make Banana Cake at her house and watch HP6. Not in the order.

Funny how the great Justin decided what time we would leave, without even saying good morning to everyone. >_>.

Anyways, we left earlier than he did because he was consuming some rather healthy cup noodles and headed to McD's for some equally healthy breakfast. At least Lor did, Ry and I just sat around and waited. Funniest thing was when Lor just tossed everything into one waste basket... because the cleaning lady gave him a really dirty look and proceeded to fish out and sort his stuff.

Met up with Sandy at some MRT station, bused, arrived at a mall, met up with her sister, mom, and two aunts for lunch at TGIF. I've never been to one. I find it weird how we're going to Caucasian food places here in Taipei, especially since it's so much more expensive than everything else. I felt bad because they paid for our meal =_=".

After eating, they went to the arcade ish thing and played for a bit while I window shopped around the mall (everything was pretty darn expensive =_=". Well, cheap by Canadian standards, but expensive by Taipei night market standards). I was tempted to buy two pairs of converse because it was buy one get one free, but I resisted (regrettably?).

Went back to the arcade to meet up with them and played a round of air hockey with Ry as my team mate against Justin and Sandy. We won 7:1. Kukuku. Actually, my air hockey skills are quite finicky, I find myself winning insanely well one game, and completely losing in another. It's ridiculous.

Headed up to the theatre, bought some popcorn and pop (...Sandy paid =_=". But the popcorn here is so sweet and delicious!). Watched HP6. It skipped out way too many things, and still ended up being 2.5 hours long. It wasn't exactly that good, but nor was it bad. Rather shall we say... neutral.

Afterwards went to the supermarket downstairs to buy ingredients for the cake, but Ry forgot, so we headed to Sandy's house where he checked online before heading out again. The cake ultimately failed in the end xD. Sandy's house is very neat and cozy, and they were a very welcoming bunch. They also have a very tiny dog called Guji (I think that's how you'd spell it). She's very cute, cuddly, and afraid of red balloons.

Taxi'd home. Did laundry. Forgot I had a midterm the day after. Study. Nah. Slept.


Monday. 27.

Midterm. Wasn't too bad. At least 85, I hope. Paper art was mildly more fun than before, but only because I took many liberties in creating my doll guy (as in giving him a mohawk, changing his eyes drastically, no ears, x eyes for fish etc.). Beading was alright, we made bracelet thingies.

Went out to the American food place for dinner. James didn't seem like he was in a good mood. On the way back, headed to the Puma shop to look at everything since it was all 50% off. Except everything was overpriced first, so the 50% off was actually just regular price. How dastardly.

Headed into the night market and thoroughly explored the place. Didn't buy anything though, which is sort of disappointing. But I still have 3 weeks to buy whatever. Heh. Oh, I did buy a pair of flip flops since Henry destroyed my previous pair by stepping on them while I lifted up my foot, thus ripping the cord. He did pay for the new pair though, but I really liked that previous pair.

Bought crepes at this store in the night market. I was really looking forward to it because I always see people walking around with one. Ry bought a green tea sundae one and I got a mango sundae one. It was pretty good, only disappointing because the crepe was crunchy rather than soft. Also accidentally swallowed a rather large piece of crepe, that hurt like crazy =/.

...I don't remember what happened after.

Oh wait, right, bed check at the auditorium. It happens every Monday night and also whenever they feel like doing one. This type of bed check should honestly take only 10-15 minutes max. But instead, because everyone keeps talking and such, it's prolonged to 30 minutes. Blah. Waste of time for all.


Tuesday. 28.

Nothing really special about classes except we celebrated Jen's birthday with cake! Yay! Everyone loves delicious chocolate cake! =). Oh, we watched a movie (didn't finish since we ran out of time) about this girl with a heart problem that's really good with music and it's this massive love square thing. I'm not sure how this relates to the chapter we read, but it's entertaining nonetheless.

Headed off to find my friend again for the whole glasses shopping thing. The trip there seemed a whole lot shorter this time around. It is hypothesized that this is due to two main factors: it's not raining like I'm walking through a wall of rain and I'm listening to my music.

Anyways, found her easily this time around. Apparently she was waiting inside a car last time while I waited inside the building, no wonder we wouldn't have seen each other. =/. Looked through the classes shop, everything was pretty cheap, but didn't manage to find a pair that I was interested in.

Her bf (one of the people I renovated with back in Calgary) gave me a ride back to the university on his scooter. O m g. That was incredibly scary. The lack of seat belt and seeming safety of metal around me made the ride more daunting than it really was. He also didn't tell me what to grab, so I grabbed the bar behind me rather than him. I'm not sure which one would've gave me a better sense of safety. But honestly. Scary. Scary stuff.

Went to eat dumplings by myself, but managed to run into some people I knew, so sat with them, although I didn't speak much. Wasn't too awkward at least. Went off to a glasses shop in the area and found a pair that I kind of like. Might look around just a bit more first before I pick them up. But glasses here are really cheap. I can get the lens / frames for about $60, whereas back home it's around $200-300, depending on what you're going for. o_o.


In other news...

Did I mention going to a place called YoFroyo that sells incredibly delicious frozen yogurt treats? You get a selection of frozen yogurt, fruit, mochi, and toppings. It's like pure awesomeness in your hand. Only better because you can consume it then buy more. Apparently Jess is addicted to the place and keeps going. Everyday.


I keep listening to Sorry Sorry and It's You. It's quite catchy. Also mesmerizing. I want to learn how to dance xD. The lyrics are the standard boy band fare stuff, but are still kind of sweet.


I have this irking sense that there was something big that I wanted to write about. Well big in the sense that it would've been fun to write about. My apologies if your day is now incomplete.
