It's an odd feeling: half way through undergrad, half way through 2010, half way through the supposed 'break' already.
Undergrad's supposed to be a huge factor in determining what we do in the rest of our life because our degree gives us access to different jobs (most of the time anyways). It's hard to believe that I'm already half way through this process of acquiring such a degree. Even then, I'm still unsure of where I'm trying to go or what exactly I want to do.
July of 2010. Was January so far away? New year celebrations, the start of a new semester, recuperating from Fall... was that all 6 months ago? Now it's already two semesters later, I'm taking a prep course, and the MCAT is a mere month away. That month'll past in no time as well. Then what? Two little weeks before Fall begins anew. Feels like a relentless cycle.
Well, for most people, Spring / Summer are a supposed break from studying where a part time job, research, vacationing, and such occur. Of course I chose to continue studying. It feels like I'll never really leave the university since I'm there so often.
This midpoint that we're straddling... is it the half way point of a journey? The intersection of many paths that we can still choose to take? A fence where either way we can fall?
In other news...
Even more squash yesterday! Slightly more challenging than Monday was, but the aching of the body continues. No rest today or tomorrow. Now that I think about it, nor Friday. Hm. Nothing different from the usual I suppose. Another thought: friend's gg squash friends were there... and their friend was there too. Now these people are good... and then their friend was even better. The road to being an okay squash player seems arduous, yet enjoyable. Whee.
Caught up with friend that's returned from her epic exchange / trip to Greece and area. It's always fun to hear about random stories from traveling, and this was no different. I want to travel more.
Haven't swung on a swing (lol?) in a while. It's exhilarating and scary at the same time. Childhood seems to long ago amongst all the hubbub of university life.
Speaking of university life, seems like Fall / Winter schedules have finally (and hopefully) been solidified. Barring drastic changes anyways.
Fall will consist of:
Bcem575 (Lipids),
Nans502A (Nanosci Methods),
Nans511 (Nanotech and Biology Medical Applications),
Nans599 (Special Problems in Nans and Technology), and
Zool461 (Animal Physiology I).
Winter will consist of:
Bcem543 (Enzymology),
Biol451 (Conservation Biology),
Nans502A (cont'd),
Zool463 (Animal Physiology II), and
Zool595 (Comp Neuromuscular Physiology).
It's questionable whether I should take Conservation Biology since it's an Ecol thing, but it'd make fourth year a bit easier or something. Or maybe I should drop it and take an elective. Suggestions?
Fourth Year currently consists of: Research (2 semesters), 2 Bcem, 3 Biol, 1 Elective. That should be it unless I screwed something up. But then again, switching in the elective for 3rd year would mean I can probably take more interesting Biol courses later. Hm. Should look into how courses sit for fourth year.
Anyways, time to head out soon.
