So, there was this whole thing in english on genre and mode where genre is what the story is kind of about (love, adventure, mystery) and mode is how the story is told / setting / style (gothic, realist and such).
In class we were talking about how the same story and ideas could be told using different modes
...and then we talked about Gothic Humpty Dumpty
"As the moon rose and cast an eeries shadow of the castle across the fields, a lone figure, humpty dumpty, sat on the battlements..
..unbenknownst to him, a dark figure steals himself along the walls, edging ever closer to the unsuspecting egg...
...moments later, a forceful push and a desperate cry... the shattering of Humpty Dumpty's shells echoed across the field, falling upon deaf ears..
...the figure raises his head and howls in triumph, a cackle that chills down to the very bone issued forth from his dark maw.."
Lots of paraphrasing there. xD.
On another tangent, Linear Algebra mocks me. It mocks me to no end. We're on the topic of vectors, and how we project a vector on another vector. Done by splitting a vector into one that is parallel and one that is perpendicular to the direction (denoted D). The parallel vector is of various multiples of D known as k. Needless to say, kd filled up the board for the remainder of the class. It was distracting.
On another tangent, pie is delicious. It also works great as hair gel. Hardens fast. Getting pie'd is a unique experience, i highly recommend it.
